Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery Scout Night Flag Placement

posted May 10, 2017, 6:13 PM by Web Master

Ok Gang,

The Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery Scout Night Flag Placement is scheduled for Friday May 26, 2017.

For those who are not familiar with this event, every year on the Friday before Memorial Day, Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery invites Several Hundred Boy/Girl Scouts to come out and place flags on all the Grave Markers. What makes this event spectacular is that within the span of about Ten Minutes the Scouts transform acres of rolling grass fields into thousands of accurately placed waiving U.S. Flags.

The Cemetery provides all the flags and the Scouts provide the labor.

“Without Scouts this spectacular event does not happen.”

!!!This is a free event!!!

Scouts, Family and friends can participate.

All registered Scouts will receive a large main patch and a year patch to identify every year they participated in this event.

There will be free hotdogs, chips and drinks after the ceremony.

Please put on your best appearance and wear your Uniform properly. There is usually a news team taking video for the evening news.

Registration will begin at 4:00 PM and the horn will sound at 5:00 PM to place flags.

We will be placing flags in section “L”.

 Please meet at section “L”.

To expedite the registration process I am asking, in advance, all names of Scouts, Adults and Friends in your Group so I can do a mass registration for us.
