The Pinewood Derby has been a Scouting tradition for nearly 64 years, and Packs 258’s for
over 40 years. Today, just like the first Derby, it all begins with a block of pine, plastic wheels and
lots of determination.

Family and friends are invited to cheer-on the Scouts as they cheer-on each other. Sibling will be
racing in their own division. The derby will wrap up with awards for the Scouts. However, there
will be no awards in the sibling division, just fun for everyone.

First place cars advance to the district level. District-wide wining cars go on to the race across
the entire council. No matter where the car places, its all about the Scout’s journey.

Snacks, food and beverages will be available for purchase in our Cub Cafe.

Attached is the rules for the derby.

If you want to give your Pinewood Derby car that extra edge, come to a workshop, hosted by Cub Master Craig
at, 112 Appletree Rd., this Saturday (January 14) between 9am & 4pm. There will be someone to help the Scouts with choosing plans for cars, cutting/woodworking, and assembling. Come for an hour or all day.
Learn derby-car building tricks, weight rules, speed and axle tips, and much more.
